Welcome to Easter Orphanage - A Safe Haven for Children
INTRODUCTION
The Easter Orphan Foundation is a Christian faith association, located in Kibrizi Ward in Kigoma-Ujiji Municipal Council- Kigoma Region, in Tanzania. Tanzania is one of the poorest in the world, ranking only 116th on the Social Progress Index, with a score of 47.14. As a results, there many Tanzania orphanages. Due to the high maternal death rate, many children are left as orphans. As a result, our Orphanage was started in May of 2018 with the vision of Elias Meshack. Elias understands the pain of abandonment, abuse and neglect, as well as the healing power of God’s love and adoption. It is for this reason that he is striving to make a difference in the lives of orphans and widows.
OUR MISSION
The Easter Orphan Foundation’s mission is to care for the needs of orphans and vulnerable widows and proclaim the word of God to all that God sends our way.
We currently care for 126 children and 60 widows.
Our biblically mandate and purpose is from James 1:27, which states “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this- to look after orphans and widows in their distress”.
VISION
● To show the love of Christ
● To provide a safe, caring and loving environment for children aged 0- 17 years and older
(regardless of HIV status or disability),
who are vulnerable, orphaned or abandoned.
● To strive to get sponsorship for each child and widow, to sponsor the child’s care and education and the widow’s.
● To implement a God driven community-involved effort to care for orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children and widows.
● To use local resources and seek to become self-reliant in energy and food.
● To acquire adequate buildings, grounds, vehicles, farm land, fences and playgrounds.
● To show the world that every child, regardless of their needs, deserves to have a loving childhood and to be treated with dignity and care.
ACHIEVEMENTS
● We have provided uniforms for the children for school
● Provide at least one meal a day for orphans and widows
● Provided mattresses for 35 children
● Provided shoes for all the children
● Provided Bibles
